Re-entry permit queries

Featured Replies

Any pitfalls  to avoid at the airport exiting Thailand with a valid multiple re-entry permit issued by local Immigration office? Do they cancel your entry stamp as normal, or put a note on it? Is the re-entry permit as strong as the original visa, or can immigration reject subsequent entry for "coming to Thailand too much"  or nonsense accusations of working illegally or insufficient funds? Asking for a friend, I have never had one yet.

Then how to deal with immigration, coming in. Write the original visa number or the re-entry permit number on the TM6?

A re-entry permit is not needed when leaving the country.  It is only needed for entry to the country to keep the permit to stay it was issued for valid.

Immigration only does the standard departure stamp. When you depart the country your current permit to stay ends.

There would be no problem entering the country with a valid re-entry permit.

You write the re-entry permit number on the TM6 arrival card.

As ubon said...reentry permit number on tm6.

Bit confusing because card asks for VISA #.

Is the re-entry permit in the passport or is it just a number?

Stamped in your passport.
