Cheaper power bills on the way, thanks to state subsidies

Electricity customers across the country are likely to receive cheaper bills from September to December this year, as the automatic FT (Float Time) charge will be subsidised over those four months, Office of Energy Regulatory Commission (OERC) chief Narupat Amornkosit said on Thursday.

Justice Ministry sets aside Bt1m to get unsuspecting student out of jail

The Justice Ministry has earmarked Bt1 million from its Justice Fund to apply for the bail release of a 22-year-old vocational student in Roi Et who was charged with possessing drugs after a package containing 10.3 grams of crystal meth or “ice” arrived in her letterbox on June 19, Tawatchai Thaikyo, the ministry’s deputy permanent secretary, said.

Drug allegations a move to oust govt, says new minister

Thammanas Phromphao, the newly appointed deputy agriculture minister, said on Thursday that the drugs related allegation against him was part of a political move aimed at bringing down the government, adding that he was getting ready to take legal action against the accusers.

LONDON (Reuters) - British far-right activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon was jailed on Thursday for committing contempt of court after he filmed defendants during a trial last year and posted the footage on social media.
