damole
Last July I bought a new Kawasaki Z250Sl in Chiang Mai for ฿108,000 . It came with one year's 1st class free insurance as part of a promotion. I just received the renewal notice from Lockton and it is ฿13,093. This seems excessive so I wondered if this is a fair market price or should I be shopping around. Henryford
That's the problem with bike insurance here. That price is more than my car. Paying it for a few years is more than the bike is worth.

ktm jeff
There is a AXA insurance shop on the outside of Tha Phae gate , near Mc Donalds. Insurance first class will be around 8-10 K.
OneMoreFarang
The renewal of the first class insurance for my 390cc 220,000B bike would have cost about 12,000THB. So it seems your insurance is expensive.
CharlieH
Just tried this for your bike and it came out at 9743.00 baht ! May be of interest ? As with all insurances it's depends on level of cover. This was based on 80k value https://misterprakan.com/en/motorbike/motorbike-insurance-thailand Shop around !
damole
The insured value was 120K. As I am only here for 5-6 months a year and the rest of the time it is parked inside my friend's guest house it make the cost seem even more unreasonable even though I understand this is down to my own choices. Are insurance premiums in Thailand risk assesed or purely down to the value of the veheicle?
