Are we perhaps forgetting that Prayut and Suthep were the ones who planned and executed the protests, road blocks, lawlessness and mayhem you mention? The whole idea being to give Prayut an excuse to point weapons at his own people, pretend to be a hero, and shamelessly hijack the government....all for the personal gain of himself and his cronies. Are we conveniently forgetting about that? Edited July 13, 2019 by Hayduke
owenm
An 8 year jail term on a drugs charge in Australia would be equivalent to a 20 year jail term for the same charge in Thailand.. How can Prayut say that this minor issue shouldn't prevent this Capt from being a Minister or MP of the newly formed government? In any other country this would lead to automatic disqualification from being either..

Popular Post jaiyen
No proper country would let someone be an MP with drug convictions and jail time. But in Thailand if you had a few media shares you can get banned !! Pathetic country getting worse by the day 2

It is truly shocking. Perhaps if the Thai Fascists who jumped so quickly into bed with the Japanese (co-operating in war crimes and aggressive war) had been punished, as European collaborating politicians and Japanese politicians/war criminals were after WW2, it might have been a different picture now. Unfortunately they were not punished. Everybody pretended that it was a "mistake", the ultimate insult being the return to Thailand of their wartime Fascist Dictator (and chief architect of the collaboration) as, once more......Prime Minister. Thus the Fascist legacy endures. There is no "compromise" or "deal" that can be struck with them. The poison has yet to be drawn.
