The Palang Pracharat party has approached former Chiang Rai governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn to become its candidate in the gubernatorial election in Bangkok at the end of this year.

Mr. Narongsak, currently governor of Phayao province and due to retire from civil service at the end of September, is well known worldwide for leading of the dramatic rescue of 13 Wild Board footballers and their coach form the flooded Tham Luang cave in Mae Sai district of Chiang Mai last year.

Palang Pracharat MP for Prachuap Khiri Khan, Mr. Udorn Allson, said today that the party was also courting Dr. Supachai Panichpakdi, former secretary-general of UNCTAD and former director of World Trade Organization, adding that the party is still waiting for confirmation from both regarding their offers.

Boring. That's it after a life of service his only fame comes from something unrelated to his job? What has he done for Chiang Mai or any other place he governed? What a joke.

Unrelated? You also try to state that he was never fit for his position. Can you please tell me more. Where do you get all this from?

Considering he was moved from Chiang Rai to Phayao by Prayuth due to his reluctance to spend money on some stupid riverside monument its maybe a sign of anti-Prayuth rebellion by the old cobra's in the PPRP.

Is this a sign the Palang Pracharat Party, previously known as the Junta Party, is going around doing it's own thing and anything it likes just the same as before and without regard for the rest of the newly elected parliament members?
