Had friends from Europe here and we saw elephants with tusks (hope that the right english word, I mean that 2 tooth which are made of ivory) and without.

Our first idea was that maybe just male get them but our Thai guide told that both male and female get them.

But some don't have them because they are too young AND :o:D they cut them.

What I could see out of the car I could see two with tusks and they were male (absolute no doubt) the others without I couldn't identify so might be female.

Anyone know?

I also thought that only the adult Bulls (males) have tusks.

Hiya. In African elephants, both sexes have tusks. In Asian elephants, only the males have tusks.
