Manop Prakobtham lashed out against criticism that he was ignoring the will of the people, saying he hears them, but that bureaucratic red tape and compliance with laws can slow things down. He also noted that the land locals want to be developed was granted by the Agricultural Land Reform Office and can only be used for agriculture. Manop told the media July 19 that the complaints lodged with the Chonburi government complaint center are from residents who only moved into the area in 2016. They’ve demanded better utility connections and roads, but because of the conditions of the land grant, upgrading infrastructure is difficult.
