application for a visa when I am already here

Featured Replies

I will be in Thailand for 31 days in October. As a resident of Australia I don't need a visa for a visit of up to 30 days. Can I apply for a visa extension when I get here ? I already have an overstay stamp in my passport (3 days) so am I running any risks of being banned from entering Thailand again if I just overstay the extra day and pay the 500 baht fine ? Some advice would be appreciated.

You can get a 30 day extension on your Visa Exempt entry at an immigration office. General advice is to avoid overstaying.
