Shower heater and Shower head

Featured Replies

Does one need to have a specific type of Hot water heater to use with a rain shower device ? Such as the one pictured.  Example hot and cold fittings or a high watt unit.

No you don't. We have 2 of these the wattage may need to be a little higher if you like powerful flow as the higher the flow rate the lower the temperature output.

Our heater in our other previous house is 4,500 watt and isn't up to providing a hot shower in the cold season in Udon, it is using the standard shower head supplied with the heater. The new heaters are 6,500 watt and can manage a warm to hot shower even in the coldest time of the year. The rain head doesn't actually use much more water than the hand shower head.

depending on where you are, you haven't said, where your storage tank is (so the temperature of your water) and how warm or hot you like your shower any where between a 4,500W to an 8,000W unit will be OK.

We have plumbed the house for a future solar hot water supply so our fittings have a mixer tap even though the solar system isn't in place yet.
