Notary Services

Recommended Posts

If for use in your home country, have it done at your Embassy.  If for use in Thailand, ask your counterparty what is normal and acceptable. "Notary Publics" are almost unknown in Thailand. A few law firms are now doing this for farang who either think it is necessary and/or find it cheaper than having it done at their Embassy.

Thailand is not a signatory to the international notary publics agreements.. So any document 'notarized' by a Thai lawyer will be as legit as a Thai rolex.. Thai lawyers know this but still sell 'notary services' to international users which are invalid outside the country.. Tell you all you need to know about the ethics of the Thai legal establishment !! 500b, sure I will screw you over for that..

If its a non important document just for a bank or something, maybe you can chance it, or if its for a country or situation which merely wants a certified copy or true copy, thats also doable. Anything which is crucial, get it done right, which means the embassy.
