james.d
Firstly, apologies if this has always been the case and just a heads-up, when l arrived at Mukdahan bus station for the international bus to Sawannakhet I was approached by immigration police to check my "visa is correct and not late". This was at 06:20am and the first bus is now 06:45am. The other expat taking the bus also had his passport checked. Could someone please confirm if l need to do a TM30 upon return to Bangkok? Regards.
ubonjoe
You would only have to have a TM30 from done if you needed to do something at a immigration office. They are the only ones that normally ask to see proof one is done.

Matzzon
Yes, to follow the Immigration act section 37 and 38, you must file a TM30 within 24 hours after your lats entry stamp coming in to Thailand. As ubonjoe states they will only check this if you have anything to do with Immigration, but if you have not filed one according to the law you will be fined 800/1600 or up to 2000 bath.
