Keeping Thailand safe: Blacklisted Uzbek woman and Myanmar woman came back

Naew Na reported that a woman from Uzbekistan and another from Myanmar had come back into Thailand on new passports with new names after they had been blacklisted. 

 

Both were arrested by Region 1 immigration police after they tried to extend visas and detailed checks were made. 

 

Naew Na quoted arresting officers as saying that the work was done following orders from immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang to keep Thailand safe.

The partial quote  " Naew Na quoted arresting officers as saying that the work was done following orders from immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang to keep Thailand safe"   indicates that prior to that order from the chief they did not bother their backsides to check anything ?  Guess that is par for the lazy RTP.

Isn't it amazing how ineffective the bothersome TM30 enforcement is to keep undesirable foreigners out? I said it before and I'll say it again: TM30 is worthless for ensuring "national security" because it cannot prevent undesirable foreigner from getting into the country in the first place. All it does is put a heavy burden on law abiding foreign residents and make them feel unwelcome. On the other hand, real criminals ALWAYS will find a way to slip through the net and couldn't care less about TM30.    

Let's all give 3 cheers for the TM30.

Can only imagine how the Uzbek woman managed to get herself blacklisted.

There's a waterfall in Prachuap Khiri Khan province and when you climb up you're all in a sudden in Myanmar.

 

   Can't be that difficult to cross a "green border."

The country just loves useless paperwork. You see it everywhere, serves no purpose and just makes people look busy.

 

It's Thailand. That's why it's 3rd world and going backwards.

Somehow it is doubtful they have drivers licenses, or drive a car or van while in Thailand.

If you could wave a magic wand and be rid of all foreign criminals it still would not make Thailand safe. There are more than enough home grown thugs, gangsters, drunk/stoned drivers etc here to fill any voids

Exactly. One would think they'd like relieve from all the paperwork TM30 generates, but it's quite the opposite. It secures their jobs.

Are they standing in front of the Grace Hotel?  If so, there are probably dozens more that they could arrest in the basement! ????
