I have to check out/in with multiple entry non-B every 3 months.

Should I only cross Thai border and stay in duty-free, then check-in to Thialand?

OR I should check in into another country before check in to Thailand?

You must have a stamp from another country prior to return or you risk arrest for illegal entry and deportation from Thailand per warning on Aranyaprathet Immigration web site

Note: If you have paid the overstay fine and are stamped out of Thailand, the Cambodian Immigration could reject entry and send you back to Thailand without stamping you in and out of Cambodia. In this case the Thai Immigration will have to send you to Immigration Bureau in Bangkok for investigation/interrogation/deportation.

At a land border you MUST enter and exit the other country, you cannot 'hang around for a bit' in no-mans-land :o
