School director promises justice as seven year old assaulted at Pattaya school

A seven year old was hit in the head with a stick because she didn't get her sums right at school.

Jaja, a P2 child, came home from her Pattaya school sullen and upset. Her mother Nutchanart, 26, took her to hospital when black eyes and swelling appeared on her daughter.

Then she made a police report.

The little girl's grandmother was given a verbal apology from the teacher concerned. It emerged that the child was hit because they were slow at maths.

Now the school director - who said they had been away from the school - has set up a committee of inquiry and promised justice in the matter.

This followed a backlash on social media when pictures of the child were posted and comments were made on Facebook.

The family have said they may prosecute the teacher concerned.

It should read "The family have said they WILL prosecute the teacher concerned"

It's time to stop the financial bribe to let things like this go away, and free the said teacher to carry on in their job. They are not suitable to teach children, and should face the full force of the law, if guilty.

Think of what the child has been through, before thinking of financial gain.

It sounds like schools in the UK in the early 1900s. This place is at least 60 years behind most developed societies, maybe more.

The school director has set up a committee, why?

NO NEED hitting any child with a stick ( what ever the reason ) is abuse.

The teacher who did it should be sacked on the spot, and never allowed to teach children again.

Why does the teacher have a stick, do they perhaps mean a ruler?

Look at that picture. That's far far beyond teaching the kid a lesson for not getting the math right. That teacher is a criminal and should be put in prison.

And the teacher thought that a couple of blows to the head should cure that....
