Seripisut demands the resignation of House and Senate speakers

 

 

Seri Ruam Thai party leader Seripisut Temiyavet is pressing for the resignation of House Speaker Chuan Leekpai and Senate Speaker Pornpetch Wichitcholachai, accusing both of them of allowing Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to present the government policy in the parliament despite the fact that the prime minister did not complete the oath during the swearing-in ceremony before His Majesty the King last month.

 

The former national police chief said that both Mr. Chuan and Mr. Pornpetch committed acts in violation of Sections 159, 161 and 162 of the Constitution and should show their spirit by resigning from the chief legislative posts.

 

Citing the case on the nomination of the prime minister, he said that, according to the proper procedure, the candidate must be nominated to the lower House first, but Mr. Chuan did not follow the procedure.

He must be trying to hypnotise it.

I like this action, bring it on, make the 'government' squirm in their own messy soup until they collapse (hoefully soon)!

I cannot see this manifestation of 'government' lasting long. The inaccurate oath taking was clearly intentional. We cannot say who was behind that (scratch my head in bafflement).

 

But don't worry: there is a lovely, glorious coup - waiting and itching in the wings for when the phoney house of cards begins to tumble (as tumble it will)  ...

I hope so. I think any coup could be the last one if Thais wake up and consider HK's example.

It's a question of being de-sensitised" to Thai politics, governors & officials.

I'm sure most Thais believe nothing will ever change so what's the point of trying... hence the election fiasco

the time was there to cast a vote for every voice but the opportunity was lost... rigging, vote buying, you name it it happened all under the nose of the election committee who were hand picked to get the right result no matter what.

Thais will just go to work as normal, do what they can to get some money and let the elite carry-on ripping off Thailand !

You are right, of course, Srikcir.

But: in the Thai case, there was no unintentional fluff, flumox, or fumbling. It was deliberate. Acting under orders.

I cannot say under whose orders ....

I would like to see someone table a motion to replace the memorial plaque to democracy that was removed from the middle of the road a couple of years ago.

 

If they let this go plus the incorrect oath taking it allows those people determined to water down democracy succeed in their plans.

It is a very specific path they are taking to an "absolute" outcome. Military will not be in charge after next coup.
