A trailer truck caught fire inside an NGV station in Pathum Thani’s Klong Luang district early Thursday after stopping to refill its tanks.

The Klong Luang police station was alerted to the fire at the Sri Somboon Pattana NGV station on the frontage road along motorway No 9 in Tambon Klong Si at 2.30am.

Four fire engines took about 20 minutes to put out the blaze. The truck was parked in front of a gas dispenser. The fire was put out before it escalated.

The truck driver, Chamnarn Chachamnarn, 56, said the fire started after he parked the truck in front of the dispenser. He added that the blaze was caused by an overheated braking system.

The braes even cause problems ,when vehicles are standing still.

Will the new smoke ban apply on gas stations too?

before casually lighting a fag .. Seriously if he knew there was a problem why the duck didn't he pull over to the road side rather than risk a gas station fire by pulling it in there ..

The brakes over heated due to his inability to drive the truck properly.

Appears he was driving along riding the brakes, then pulls in to an ngv station, brain dead or what.

Worgeordie   I think the missing word is  "binding"

Should have got in the cab and pulled it out onto the road.

With 1 brake binding out of 6 on the trailer it's not always possible to tell. They do get very hot but whilst travelling the air helps to cool it. Once you stop it gets hotter.
