webfact
Water levels in four major Korat dams still low By The Nation Recent rainfall has not raised the water level in the four major dams in Nakhon Ratchasima province sufficiently to irrigate farmland in the next dry season, a senior official said Monday. Kittikul Sephasiraporn, director of the Nakhon Ratchasima Irrigation project, said some 500,000 cubic metres of water fell into the four major dams Sunday but the water levels were still too low to provide enough water for irrigation. The four dams are Lam Takhon Dam, Lam Phra Ploeng Dam, Lam Sae Dam and Upper Mool Dam. Kittikul said the four dams have a combined amount of water of 238.16 million cubic metres, or about 27.01 per cent of their capacity. He said only 201.72 million cubic meters of water or 23.79 per cent of the combined capacity could be used to irrigate farmland during the next dry season. He said the 23 medium-sized dams in the province now contain 64.81 million cubic metres in total or about 19.57 per cent of their combined capacity and only 39.77 million cubic metres or 12.99 per cent of the combined capacity could be used. Kittikul said the Lam Sae Dam has stopped feeding irrigation canals downstream because no water has flown into the dam for several months. The dam was used to irrigate some 80,000 rai of farmland until the water level ran low so the dam management decided to suspend the water release to save water for the next dry season. slappy
Only 1 problem. The dam in the picture is neither of the ones mentioned, and it's nowhere near Korat. It's Ubonratna Dam north of Khon Kaen
