August 31, 20196 yr Tell me about it! I haven't been able to use my BBL debit for online purchase for over a month now, neither have other customers apparently. I started a thread about it here - this was latest update at the time:
August 31, 20196 yr And what that mean about the other banks (SCB, Kasikorn, ...)? They were not checked or they had no problems at all?
August 31, 20196 yr Thank goodness we can still keep cash in our pockets to tide us over times when the increasingly complex and vulnerable electronic banking systems go awry. Now. . . consider what is going to happen when Thailand goes cashless, which is the government's stated intention. Having money in one's pocket gives us a measure of freedom and independence When it is all held as digital code on bank computers and only available with their consent, we will truly all be debt slaves. I went to Sala dang to complain but neved got an answer apart from "we cannot understand" 555 I would guess that this debit card is a Union Pay... and therefore not yet accepted very good outside Asia. There are some places mainly tourist spots which accepts Union Pay already. I saw them in Las Vegas and some places in Switzerland.
September 1, 20196 yr The computers at the bbl branches are often 30 years old, but using a Unix system..might actually be safer than IP. You just don't see much amber monochrome nowadays. The real issue should be, who has the sexiest bank tellers.
