As the second anniversary of Hamas’s October 7th massacre approached, authorities uncovered detailed plans for coordinated terrorist attacks in Berlin and Vienna targeting Israeli diplomats, Jewish community centers, and pro Israel gatherings.

An indictment describes how an international network moved assault rifles, pistols, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition across Europe to enable the strikes, while one suspect even filmed a claim of responsibility video in front of a Hamas flag.

The plot was disrupted just days before the intended date, underscoring that the group continues seeking ways to export its violence to the West .The consequences of the accused still are facing due process.

Terrorism is sealing a couple of million Palestinians behind a cement wall topped with machine-guns and barbed wire, and then dropping 2000 lb bombs on them until there is little left than rubble. Then when is little is left but tents, then dropping bombs on the tents. That is "terrorism."

What Hamas did in the part of Israel adjacent to Gaza was Terrorism. The regular attacks by rockets from within Gaza over the years - decades, since Israel withdrew from Gaza were terrorism. Israel, during that time made efforts to supply Gaza, provided health care to Gazans, provided them with utilities, power and water; provided them with jobs.

Israel's reaction to Hamas's attacks was entirely predictable, perhaps what Hamas wanted, they had certainly prepared for and expected it. Israel's government (elected) is inevitably a coalition, dominated by some extreme Zionists. Driven by them, they have carried out revenge - terrorist - attacks upon Gaza.

It is important to consider that that government and it's policies are far from being supported by many Israelis. both their actions in Gaza and their attacks on Iran, and indeed the settlement of the West Bank. We will find out how unpopular they are in Novembers elections. These elections are overshadowed by the US mid terms. It is also important to note that they are probably more important elections if one considers the chances for peace in the Middle East.

One must also consider that Israel has lived under the threat of invasion and constant terrorism since its conception in 1947. In more recent years the ideological hatred and use of proxies by the Islamic regime in Iran has only deepened that threat.

None of that justifies or defends Israel 's acts in Gaza. They are horrific and must cease. But, like so many seemingly intractible problems world wide, it is only going to be resolved by negotiation. You dont need to like the people you are negotiating with but you do need to steel yourself to find the goodwill to negotiate. To date, neither Israel nor Hamas nor Iran have shown any signs of that goodwill. The impasse will only be broken by a new Israeli government.

So many details in this terror attempt attack can be associated with historical events, past & present .

"Jewish community centers” are not military bases or political offices. They function as places of worship, community gathering, childcare, and social services for ordinary families, children, and the elderly. Because they have zero military or political function, targeting them whether in European capitals or anywhere else is simply the deliberate selection of soft civilian sites for maximum terror and anti semitic effect.

Exactly, its funny how time erases facts . It’s a war initiated by Hamas and Palestinian's on Oct 7, fought in urban areas where Hamas uses civilian infrastructure including turning water pipes into rockets and building tunnels beneath schools and hospitals for military cover.

Even though Israel routinely issued advance warnings and evacuation notices to protect civilian lives, the destruction and lives lost are the direct result of Hamas's deliberate strategy of using human shields.
