BANGKOK (NNT) - The Office of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) has marked its 12th anniversary by launching the ERC Regulates Happiness for Thai People Project.

Thai people nationwide are invited to build energy security for the country through three activities. The first is the installation of lights at religious sites in Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat provinces so that people can attend religious services more conveniently and safely. In the first phase, lights will be installed in 13 locations before expanding the scheme to other areas as appropriate.

The second activity is educating the public and local youth through an energy conservation activity to cultivate intellectual power. The ERC will cooperate with government agencies and civil society to cultivate an understanding of energy and related matters such as knowledge of environmental assessments, community hygiene, communication and creative expression.

The last activity "Run for Sustainable Community" will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Bang Krachao Park, Samut Prakan. All proceeds will be granted to the Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation and the Prostheses Foundation of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

As for the progress of the community power plant project in keeping with the policy of the Ministry of Energy, Mr Samerjai Suksumek, the ERC Chairman said today that the ERC is now determining the criteria for properly establishing a community power plant in each area as appropriate.

Initially, they will be located in remote areas where there is no energy security. However, they must be areas where fuel is available. The Ministry of Energy expects to determine a pilot area for the construction of a community power plant by the end of this year.

This must surely be some translation error?

It can't be anything to do with our glorious leader's catchphrase in his previous incarnation? What will we have now - 'smile but don't laugh or risk attitude adjustment'?

The 4th will be Captain Sensible on the tanoy system 24/7

Sort of like regulating an orgasm.

Sounds fun

The "Hub" of Regulation.

This beggars belief!

Setting aside all the gratuitous claptrap the regulated happiness for the people will be:

1. They are going to turn on the lights for the people for a limited time while they pray.

2. The people will have their lives enhanced by learning how to turn off unneeded power and light switches.

3. They are all going for a run in the park and hand over some money.

Could we get a follow up on this in one year from now?

Oh, thank god they’re finally going to regulate the happiness round here. I’m all for a good time and a laugh but it was getting out of hand.

This place gets more like an Oriental version of Ruritania every day. Maybe thats why I like it so much. Never a dull moment, always something to make you laugh, cry or tear your hair out!

Not much can be said about an organization that took 12 years before recognizing the happiness of its customers!

That's not funny. Oh, wait, it is funny, I think.

It's the way you tell them. Hold on, I didn't say that you were telling anyone.

I'm going for a beer, that males me happy.

Welcome to the Twilight Zone!

Sounds like they have been regulating their own happiness with a lot of kite flying.

Rumor has it that was the way electricity was discovered.

Is it April 1st? ????????????

What about making the foreigners long stay on marriage, family or retirement, work permit holders and educational short termers? Unless they seriously think the TM 30 is the answer for all happiness.
