South Korean gang leader arranged for compatriots to smuggle drugs in their undies

The leader of a three man South Korean drug gang has been arrested by immigration in Thailand.

 

The gang were smuggling drugs such as cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine, ice and hallucinogens in their underpants via Suvarnabhumi airport to Incheon in South Korea. 

 

Sung Chul, 39, was arrested by Thai immigration at a hotel in Ekkamai Soi 26. He was on overstay.

 

He has admitted being the person who sourced the drugs for two friends. One was arrested in a sting in South Korea in April and the other was caught with drugs in his underpants in May.

 

They snitched on the gang leader and after the South Korean embassy informed Thai immigration about a warrant issued in July the Thai police were able to trace the final member of the gang. 

 

He said that after he found out about the arrest of his mates he intended to continue to overstay in Thailand.

 

The drugs once in South Korea were posted to clients earning many times their value in Thailand.

I can imagine the court dialogue now:

Immigration officer: It was ecstasy in his underpants.

Judge: We'll ignore your sexual preferences while you're giving evidence.
