PM unperturbed by Opposition’s plan to question his ethical standards

 

 

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha appears unperturbed by the Opposition’s plan to demand an investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Commission into his alleged gross violation of ethical standards by failing to recite his oath of office fully and his subsequent handling of the issue.

 

He said today (Friday) that the Opposition can do whatever they wish, but whether it would be legal is a different matter.

 

Insisting on his respect for the legal process, the Prime Minister claimed that he has cleared the oath controversy with the Constitutional Court, the Administrative Court as well as the Office of the Auditor-General.

Absolute grub. Just a shame all those who could theoretically get some level of accountability are themselves either subservient to the military or highly unethical also.

Just doing a bit of democratic backsliding which he is good at. The immunity he gave himself immediately after the coup and during the days of the junta seems to be carrying carried through to the present day. 

Ethics is not a strong quality with military career people who initiate coup d'états against elected governments.

The same legal process that allows coup leaders carte blanche.  Why would anyone question or not respect that?

If Prayut really had direct private contact (otherwise where is the public transcript of such a meeting?) with the Courts concerning a matter that might come before the courts, that would seem VERY inappropriate if not a CONFLICT of INTEREST for the courts.

The Courts are not part of the Executive Branch like the OAG and if the Courts allow such private conference with Prayut that would cause a potential perception of bias at best and collusion at worse.

NAAC should investigate such alleged contact to assure there's no abuse of power.

Oh ya! He has great respect for legal process.... Says the coup master. Sheesh!

let me start with a definition.

Prayut knows you can't question that which doesn't exist.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't you need standards before they can be questioned?
