Smart Watch could be key evidence in "pretty" Lanlabelle death case

Investigators in Bangkok believe they may have a key piece of evidence in determining what happened and when in the death of "pretty" Thitima Naraphanphiphat or Lanlabelle.

The 25 year old was spotted on social media wearing a Samsung smart watch on her left wrist and this has now been given by her mother to police who have sent it off for analysis with experts.

It records heart rate, blood pressure and the number of steps taken and if the data is viable it could prove a valuable clue.

Lanlabelle was found dead on a sofa in the lobby of a luxury condominium in the Talat Phlu area of Bang Khun Thian last Tuesday.

She had been dragged their apparently unconscious by a man now known in the Thai media as "Nam Un".

The pair had been among ten people who attended a drinks party on the other side of Bangkok.

Daily News said that news sources suggested that Lanlabelle had a blood alcohol level of 400 milligrams.

That is eight times the legal limit to drive and could be behind her death.

The autopsy findings have yet to be officially announced as the Thai media continue to speculate on the case that has captivated the Thai public.

Pol Maj-gen Somrit Tongtao said at Bukkalo police station yesterday that the smart watch could be key evidence in the case.

A whole week has passed since this girl's death and this is all they can come up with.

Someone is pulling some strings backstage, methinks.

Really? Blood pressure? How exactly? Inflates and deflates all the time?

i agree, a video of a guy, carrying an unconcious girl into a *luxury* condo (well thats a clue for starters) the guy said they never had sex (easy to prove, ) then he must have picked the poor girl up, and dumped her in the lobby . this guy knows a lot more than he is letting on, the cops call a press conference, what the hell for, get on with it. a week gone by, Keystone Cops at their best. TEST THE SUSPECT <deleted> nah ! forget it,

This is not CSI Miami.   They may have a 'smart watch' but they don't have many 'smart cops'; only Numpty's wearing CSI Vests !

No you activate it when you need a reading.

It should show exactly when her heart stopped beating and possibly gps location depending on watch and how its set up.

Surely if her mother had the watch, that would mean that she wasn't wearing it when she died, so how is this going to help anything?

Presumebly the watch was taken from the girl and given to the mother after her death.

Odd for a whole week to go buy, it only takes a few hours to transfer the ownership of a condo to the maid of a copper.

The police are likely to have plenty of evidence already in this case. Some officers in the RTP are good at withholding information during an inquiry. But the presence of the watch could greatly help in either persuading "Warm Water" to come clean or exonerating him entirely. It is also intriguing from an investigatory blunder perspective. Plod look to have overlooked the value of the watch as it was apparently handed to them by the mother after it was seen on the CCTV on social media. Potentially the best clue was under their very noses and they missed it.

For those interested in crime it brings to mind the case of the Canadian called Albert Walker who murdered an acquaintance at sea but did not take off the victim's Rolex before dumping him in the water - the discovery of the body and the watch (and when it had stopped) ultimately was pivotal in the resolution of the case.

Well,...could give a precise indication of the time of her death.

Thais can't drive when they are sober let alone 8 times over the limit??

She  goes to  a party  to serve drinks to a bunch of possibly hiso

wannabes gets

<deleted> instead  throw in a roey and you have a recipe for disaster.

To many holes in this one!!! How did her family know where to find her!! What her g watch??

The coroner said at her death no drugs or booze in her system now 8 times over hmmmm thai csi at its best. But I'm sure he forgot to test for rohypnol??

that's a log of grog for a small framed female body to cope with.

0.40 would be fatal in a lot of cases.  There are people who can tolerate that much, but usually seasoned alcoholics.

The 'suspect', if that's him in the picture, doesn't look very concerned, smiling into the camera.

Influential parents?

Or just the village idiot giving that stupid idiot grin that they all somehow think is OK?
