Does onward ticket technique still work to stay in Thailand 120 days?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I plan to visit Thailand from early December to late March (total around 120 days) to visit my parents/siblings/relatives. In the past, I always get a non-immigrant O visa which allows me to stay for 90 days (not enough for 120 days this time). After consulting with AI, it recommended me to buy a roundtrip ticket for 120 days and get an onward ticket from popular websites (BestOnwardTicket or TopOnwardTicket) to show that I would leave Thailand before 30 days visa free entry is over. While in Thailand, I could get some kind of visa extension to stay legally until late March. I'm certain that I could get an extension because I have several blood related ties there. However I'm worried about the airline gate attendant who checks to make sure that all passengers have a way to leave Thailand before their visa period is up. Has anyone ever tried this onward ticket technique? Would there be any drawbacks? Please share your thoughts/experiences. Thanks.
