Siamesepiggster
Hi, If an overseas company transfers US dollars into my personal Bangkok Bank account, will Bangkok Bank automatically convert them into Thai Baht into my account or will the transfer be rejected? I am unable to ask the company to send the payment in Thai Baht. Thanks.

mahjongguy
If it is a Thai baht account then foreign currency will be converted upon deposit. This is a good thing.
55Jay
If your personal Thai bank account is in Thai Baht, then yes, the deposit will reflect as Thai Baht.
Peterw42
You are usually better off having the Thai bank do the exchange into baht than the sending bank. You could always open a $US account at a Thai bank and not do any exchange

Pib
It will automatically be converted to baht by Bangkok Bank using their TT Buying Rate which is used for incoming international transfers. Additionally a receiving fee of 0.25% (Bt200 min, Bt500 max) will be applied. This will apply whether it a SWIFT/Wire transfer or ACH transfer. And if the company is doing an ACH transfer using the Bangkok Bank New York ABA routing number plus your in-Thailand acct number then Bangkok Bank NY will slice-off a fee usually in the $5 to $10 ballpark as it flows through them on to Thailand.
