Now it's the "nobody's perfect" nonsense. For example most people lie from time to time. Therefore since almost everybody lies from time to time, what difference does frequency make?

I like the "Hate if run rampant, can consume an individual". So would calling Republicans who oppose Trump "human scum" mean that Trump is consumed by hate. And that's just one of the thousands of hateful things Trump has said. Or is he like a human version of the Burning Bush, unconsumed by "Hate run rampant."  And will a person who alleges with no hard evidence that a political opponent has been engaged in various deed and dispatches his own personal lawyer to run the investigation qualify as someone who will not see anything worthy in an individual he will also actively seek to find more about the individual that further fuels his hatred." Might also apply to someone who leads chants of "Lock her up.".

There's a psychological study that shows conservatives tend not to be good at perceiving irony. Thanks for providing some evidence to support that.

Jeffrey Dahmer was supposed to be nice to his mother; Tedd Bundy was by all accounts a devoted husband and doting father; Charles Manson supposedly loved his aunt and uncle and would do anything for them.

Although all of these are 'excellent character traits', one cannot conveniently ignore all the other, less 'excellent' character traits in favor of cherry picking the few. These are/were some serious deranged people who's flaws vastly outweigh any redeeming qualities they may have had.

Equally Trump has demonstrated being racist, misogynistic, petty, fragile and neurotic, he has alienated allies whilst courting tyrants, he has polarized a nation like no-one else before him. To simply ignore these immense character flaws to focus on his 'worthy traits' is myopic and ultimately selfish and leads to accusations usually leveled at members of a cult. 

We don't hate Trump; we fear Trump. We fear what he has already done and fear what he is capable of doing. We fear the power he wields and the consequences it has for the world. We fear he has let the genie out of the bottle and there is just no way it's going back in, but mostly we fear that common sense, the rule of law and moral decency are now a thing of the past, just because so many of you by your actions and your comments are now saying these things no longer matter. They do and if it requires an 'endless loop' to re-establish these things, then so be it.

On October 17, Moody's Aanalytica predicted that Trump would win the  2020 election,  Stating that it wass "Trump's to lose": https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/17/politics/trump-moodys-analytics-2020-election-model/index.html .  Moody's has been correct in their predictions since 1980 except for one, the 2016 fiasco, where voter turn out blew their prediction out of the water. 

 

Now this article did come from CNN, which many on here classify anything that they report as "Fake News", and there is was nothing in their models about the ongoing impeachment proceedings.  They went on to say that a very large Democratic turnout could also sway the  results, in two of the three models, economy, stock market and unemployment, that they averaged to come up with the predictions.

 

If you are a Yank, like me,  make sure that you get your absentee ballot. The most important states, that threw Trump over the line, were Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Trump won those states by 0.2, 0.7 and 0.8 percentage points, respectively, mostly due to the Democratic "couch potato, attitude on election day since all of the polls had Clinton as a shoe in!  Laziness in 2020 could have us posting about Trump for another four years.

 

I used to be a Republican when the party promoted policies that I believed in but now the GOP promotes whatever Trump tweets in the morning that could change by the end of the day.  My uncle actually was a four term Senator from Delaware.  Now I would support anybody that had some values since Trump's only concerns is himself.
