What you can do.

First check what the best possible rates in Thailand are:

Select USD to THB and select "Notes".

 

Then go to this Twelve Victory branch and compare.

TVC rates for their Bangkok main branch are competitive.

But not garantueed to be the same in N.P.

Depending on that (and your amount) you can decide whether it's worth searching elsewhere (like Mukdahan at the border where there might be more choices).

The only exchange is almost opposite Bangkok Bank in the same soi as it's side entrance. I think it must be 12victory mentioned above.

 

If the amount to change is sufficiently large, it might be worth a trip to Superrich in Bangkok, who seem to offer the best rates: https://www.superrichthailand.com/#!/en
