Pharmacist Sireethorn Leigharamwat wins Miss Thailand 2019 crown

Pharmacist Sireethorn Leigharamwat was crowned Miss Thailand 2019 at Aksra Theatre King Power on Thursday (September 26).

 

From 39 candidates participating in the pageant, judges chose 20 contestants after the catwalk and self-introduction rounds, and then reduced it to eight finalists to compete in the interview round.

 

 

 

The four runner-ups for Miss Thailand by region were: Supang “I-tim” Panthong as Miss Thailand of the North, Warisa “Fan” Phongphruekthon as Miss Thailand of the Central, Monchnit “Nammon” Chuayboon as Miss Thailand of the Northeast, and Pornnatcha “Namwah” Arayasatchaphong as Miss Thailand of the South.

 

 

But Sireethorn “Bint” Leigharamwat a Bangkok pharmacist earned the title of Miss Thailand 2019, along with Bt1 million in cash, the crown and the sash.

 

 

In the final interview round, Sireethorn was asked to name the root cause of drug problems worldwide. She answered that “teen curiosity” was behind the problem. “Schools should teach them the effects and consequences of using drugs. It’s vital to let them know how their future will be affected if they dare to try,” she said.

Contestants are also assessed on other factors such as intelligence and personality. Perhaps you should focus on rating pole dancers.

I think they should have pole dancers at the Miss Thailand contest. Talent show, you know.

Well, aside from the one on the far left, she's the most caucasian looking of the bunch but I guess having the lighter complexion gave her the edge. (What the hell's up with the Thai fascination with caucasoid features and light complexion anyway?)

What a Princess but can she dance like Lamyai? 

It's funny how out of touch I am with the thinking of Thais. I looked at the picture of the 5 girls and thought, the only one I'm NOT attracted to is the girl in the center. Sure enough, that was the winner. She won't have to worry long about winning Miss World and can turn to her profession as a pharmacist. She seems like a level headed young lady, but that contest seems to value other things than that.

How Thai they look, LOL. I assume the man and woman kissing her in the photo are her parents? the daughter looks like neither of them, parents look definitely Thai????

No idea whatsoever. Dark skin is gorgeous. I tell my Thai wife to repeat after me- Black is beautiful, white is bad. She looks at me like I am from another planet. Could it have anything to do with the fact that every single rich person on TV is portrayed as having milky white skin, and every peasant is portrayed as being dark?

Looks like the ladies I saw at the plastic surgeon when they had the big "5 nose jobs for the price of 4" sale.

Better lookers in 7-eleven and there are 3 where I live.  There ...........I was first.

Only peasants working on the fields get brown, the hi-so stay in their temples nursing their vitamin D deficiency. That seems to be the original idea, originating from where else than China, Sino-Thais seem to be especially picky. I like 'em brown too, the Thai honey golden hue is gorgeous, only perhaps matched by the native Americans.

From left to right, I would have picked No. 1 far left first, and probably No. 4th from the left second. But that's just based on looks only, of course.

 

 

PS - Where's the swim suit contest photos??? That would help give a more informed opinion!!!

For some reason their contestants always look butch. 

They tend to pick girls tall enough to go up against the giant western girls at Miss World. Ah well, more short cute dark brown ones for the rest of us. As for their white skin; white foundation and flash photography makes em look whiter than they actually are. Lady Roadrunner is as brown as a bears bum, but looks white when I photograph her. At just 5' 2" she would never make it to Miss Thailand but is far more cute than any of these girls.

I'm just waiting with baited breath for when Steve Harvey or whomever comes along and tries to pronounce  Sireethorn Leigharamwat....

same here.

to me, all the girls in this contest look the same, and even borderline ladyboy looks.

clearly, that's the beauty canon ladyboys want to attain when they transform their bodies.

I don't feel attracted at all by these models, long chins, long noses, big bodies.

 

To be honest, it's the same in the West. Whenever I watched Western beauty contests in TV (rarely) I was like "whaaaaaat" when I saw who won.

 

but there is a silver lining: less competition for the girls I like ????
