begsaresponse
The first room we were given was flithy. Cigarette burns and other muck on the carpet. The bathroom smelt of piss. The second room we were put in was a lot cleaner...shame it didn't have any hot water! It took an hour for them to sort it out at a time when we needed tp shower and meet up with other people in the hotel. The hotel has a 3* rating which is not the case in reality. I would say a very poor nearly 2*. It is very tired and dated. Its location not too bad, near the railway station in Hanoi. It advertisd the fact it had a bar. It might have had one 20 years ago but not now. And all the photographs on the web site must have been taken 20 years ago. We do plan on visiting Hanoi next year.Accommodation aside we enjoyed our trip. Anyone know of a good hotel in the Old Quarter? Begsa
jingjoe
Hanoi Elegance (1 or 2) for around US$40 a night is pretty good value and a perfect location in the heart of the old french quarter.
