Hi all,

I've been reading left and right that foreigners are not supposed to get interest from a Thai bank account? What's the "real" deal with that? I've got some money in a fixed account and do get my interest?! So have most of the people I know!

Any reliable information someone?

Where have you read that ? There is no such rule or regulation or law. Some banks will not give interest on a current accounts for foreigners, but that's their internal policy, not a rule or law.

i still get interest on my Thai Farmers (Kasikorn) bank account that i opened in 1999, but not on my Krung Thai Account which i opened in 2003.

Bangkok bank pays for me, only they put in the book twice a year....

Well nothing to worry about then. Read it on TD, and here as well somewhere if I remember well.
