City’s water system to get major revamp

At a recent meeting at Pattaya City Hall, officials discussed plans for the budget required to fund the Provincial Waterworks Authority’s laying an upgraded pipeline system and constructing new pumping stations to increase tap water distribution capacity in the Pattaya metropolitan area, Laem Chabang and Sriracha.

CPF, Thai Union commit to tackle modern slavery

Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF) and Thai Union Group PCL issued a joint statement on September 30 committing to tackling modern slavery to ensure their supply chains are free of illegal labour.

Sa Kaeo border shipments see Bt20-bn bump over 2018

Goods movement between Thailand and Cambodia at the Sa Kaeo border in fiscal 2019 has reached Bt130.5 billion, up approximately Bt20 billion from the previous fiscal year, On Unthaweesup, an Aranyaprathet Customs Officer, told a reporter on Wednesday at the Ban Khlong Luek border checkpoint in Sa Kaeo.

Joint committee lowers growth forecast for 2019

The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking has revised downward its forecast of Thailand's economic growth this year to between 2.7 per cent and 3.0 per cent from the previous projection of between 2.9 per cent and 3.3 per cent.

Property Perfect sees condo market as ‘worst in a decade’

Drop in domestic travel despite high passenger numbers at Thailand’s 6 key aiports

Thailand’s six major airports have handled more than 141 million passengers over the past 12 months and though international travel rose by 4.4 per cent, passenger numbers on domestic routes showed a drop of 1.4 per cent, the Airports of Thailand (AOT) reported on Tuesday (October 1).

Thailand generates less marine debris

BANGKOK (NNT) - The amount of marine debris generated in Thailand has dropped to 21,700-32,600 tons annually, after the initial success of a project to increase the reuse and recycling of materials by 25 percent. Plastic bags remain the largest proportion of marine debris found in the environment.

Foreign workers can pay health check fee at 7-11s from 16th Oct
