The Finance Ministry will evaluate the results of the “Eat, Shop, Spend” Bt1,000 cash hand-out first before considering a second phase, said Lavaron Sangsnit, director-general of the Fiscal Policy Office.

If the ministry does decide to launch Phase 2, details will be concluded within this month, he added.

As of October 1, 9 million people have signed up for the scheme since it was launched on September 23. Registration will close on November 15 or when the scheme hits the 10-million registrations target.

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to describe it as the "lunch of phase 2"?

Will be a massive failure since most are signing up thinking they get a free 1000 baht. Of course, we will be told that it was a massive success with bazillions of baht generated.

Save time and money and just state great success, I am so great, thank you all.

I'm not an economic wizzzzz but isn't internal tourism just moving about the countries printed money and in this case using the country's money literally to encourage more debt for no financial gain for the country.... No I must be wrong. Yep I just too thick to understand.
