Chainarong Katchapanan, Student Loan Fund (SLF) manager

The Student Loan Fund (SLF) received Bt31 billion in debt repayments in fiscal 2019, its manager, Chainarong Katchapanan, said on Wednesday (October 2).

The amount was 20 per cent higher than last year and the highest of any year to date, he said, attributing the jump to the implementation of automatic salary deductions.

The SLF has granted Bt26.18 billion to 534,704 borrowers thus far in the 2019 academic year, Chainarong said, an average of roughly Bt49,000 per recipient.
