Future Forward’s trouble both internal and external

Controversial media mogul Sondhi Limthongkul has made an intriguing point the other day when he warned Future Forward leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit against falling into a trap of old-fashion politics. The young political star was told to keep a distance and allow his party to grow naturally instead of relying on his enormous wealth and influences.

 

Of Thailand’s key political parties, the Democrats are the only one who can boast natural and democratic successions and transitions. Thaksin Shinawatra virtually owns his political force, which looks up to him and his wealthy family when it comes to financial supplies. The Chartthaipattana Party is all but controlled by the Silpa-archa family, again, thanks to the clan’s money. Many other old-fashioned political leaders have been using the same approach to establish influences — in other words throwing money around.

 

Sondhi said reports on Thanathorn’s loans to his own Future Forward Party worry him. Political and constitutional complications aside, the money put Future Forward in danger of becoming a “Thanathorn Party”, making him or his family “the owner”, not a “leader” who is more subjected to natural, transitional changes.

The yellows sold out the average Thai.  Future Forward may be less than perfect, but it better than any other party.   The coup retarded political growth, so the mess is because of them and their efforts to marginalize the PTP and nothing more.

Don't ThaiPBS just love putting out stuff that casts Thanathorn in a more negative or dubious light!

Actually, it does not really matter what Thanathorn does, says or does not say or do: the junta forces are out to get him and gag him anyway. 

And they will (absent genuine million-fold clamour from the Thai people).

 

The corrupt press will print what they are told to. The cronies in government will continue to fabricate ‘charges’ to keep FFP on the back foot. None of this will work and the old guard know it.

 

FFP will continue to erode the ‘governments’ ‘legimatcy’.

 

The younger generation are not stupid.

The point they make is valid people should not be being bought or look that way.  That should represent the people and if they have money problems handle it in their own

The only succession the Democrats made to form a government was to bootstrap themselves with treasonous (according to the constitutions and penal codes) military overthrows of elected governments.

There has never been anything natural and democratic about the Democrats gaining control of the government.

After the last election the Democrats had an opportunity to "wash away" their undemocratic sins to provide the anti-military coalition with a clear majority in the House that would have barred Senate vote for PM. Instead the Democrats paid risk-free "homage" to their traditional power brokers.

sondhi just get out of the prison on royal pardon. He still have job to do to payback his masters. He was freed for the soul purpose to destroy FFP.

It's a reasonable point to make, he might be doing it for the right reasons but on the flip side can be turned into ammunition that the military leadership know how to fire back....
