Five arrested during biggest methamphetamine bust in decade

Pattaya:--Police announced the culmination of a 2-year investigation has led to five arrests and the largest methamphetamine haul in over a decade.

The investigation, which started with the arrest of a user in Pattaya, spanned four provinces – Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Suphanburi, and Chonburi – and resulted in the arrest of Supoj Ta Nikrawat, 33, Supanatchakul Prew Kongtadum 35, Chalermpol Keng Nokthong, 45, Taitoon Toon Panyawattanakorn, 37, and Miss Chonthicha Dear Setkit, 35.

 

Over 900,000 ya ba tablets with a street value of 100 million baht were confiscated along with 1-kg of crystal methamphetamine.

The announcement of the arrest came on Oct. 1, Pol. Lt. Gen. Montree Yimyam, the Provincial Police Region 2 Commander’s first day at his new position.

 

The Pattaya Police bust of a drug addict led to the arrest of a dealer with 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine in Banbung, Chonburi. The dealer then revealed his source was a big drug agent in Nonthaburi. He was talked into setting up a buy of 1-kg crystal methamphetamine and 10,000 ya ba tablets at the larger dealer’s house in Bangpai, Nonthaburi.

What is the difference between ya ba and Crystal meth? I was under the impression that ya ba is Crystal meth. Please educate me.

Two years tracking these guys and only 5 offered up for arrest. I guess the big bosses continue on with new mules?

Whats the difference between crack and cocaine don't  they both come from coca leaf?

Fun fact: amphetamine and methamphetamine is legal under prescription in the west. 

The bigger the bust...the bigger the drought....the bigger the drought....the higher the price...the higher the price.....the more profits to be made....the more profits to be made ....the more dealers enter the market....the bigger the market....the karger consumer base.....leading to more product in circulation....leading to bigger busts....leading to.....and so on. A fundamental flaw, one of many, in the prohibition approach. IT DOES NOT WORK.

I was surprised they even mentioned going up the chain a little bit.  So few drug bust articles mention such things
