Cheap Flights From Japan To Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Myself and my girlfriend will be in Japan for a wedding in July. After the wedding, we want to go to Koh Phangan for 6 or 7 days.

What airlines should I look into for getting a cheap flight from Japan to Bangkok? I would also be willing to fly to Hong Kong from Japan if that is significantly cheaper.

Thanks!

Two are main discount travel agencies in Japan:

http://www.no1-travel.com/

http://www.etour.co.jp/en/index.html

The first one requres cash on the spot, the second one accepts credit cards.

The prices quoted are not always much lower than JAL website (Japanese only).

Also, heavy taxes are added to the display price. 60K Y ticket becomes 85K when taxes and the rest are added.

Rock bottom cheap prices are with airlines like Biman Bangladesh, Nort West, United, Indian Airlines.

For almost 6 years I am going to BKK every 2-3 months, don't mind paying 100-200$ extra to be on ANA, Cathay Pacific, Singapore or JAL.

Gave THAI a chance once, the plane was scrap metal with no personal screens. When they introduce a new machime may go with them again. Oddly, THAI has always been the most expensive airline plying the NRT-BKK route.

Wonderful - thank you for this information!

Is there a minimum amount of time I must buy tickets? 3 days in advance? In your experience, will tickets be cheaper if I call and book early? Or should I just wait until I get to Japan? I am visiting from the United States.

With etour, tickets have to be paid within 7 days after booking.

Not paid, automatic cancellation. Just happened to me last Friday, had to rebook (at a new, higher, price) and paid it minutes later over the net.

E-ticket is issued 28 days before travel date. I don't think you have to be in Japan.

You can go through their terms and conditions, from memory, tickets can not be booked less than 7 days in advance.

With No.1 Travel I think it was 1 month in advance but have not used them for 2 years now (etour is better so I use them).

Also, No.1 travel will issue you a voucher for a group travel that you have to show at the airport to get your ticket at the group travel counter, then go for real check in. With etour, nothing like that.
