Not all men... Only those that agree with the U.S
He cannot help it. His latent hesperophobia made him do it.

Hesperophobia is hatred of Western Culture... Not America... I clearly do not suffer from it.

Your aggession towards me, purely because I have a different opinion to you doesn't support your argument. It only proves that my observations are true...

Surprised, surprised, I'm very surprised that people are surprised to find to find Antiamercanism in this world.

Who is not with us, is against us! ?

I believe there are certainly large amounts of paranoid cases in the US. The US is the number one employer of mental doctors in the world. Uncertainity and fear are everywhere.

There is something wrong in this cociety.

That certainly is reflected through the actions of the goverment.

This kind of mental disease is prevalent in all western societies, and I think it has hit the fan in the US, well no wonder they are always no 1. It has reached a staate in which large parts of the population are not capable anymore of any reflections.

Once I meet this nice american guy in a train, he pulled out a small bottle of desinfection liquid to free his hands of bacteria before biting into his sandwhich.

Rambutan, I think I met that same guy on the train some time after you! Only this time he took out his sandwich and the bottle of disinfectant, then he proceeded to tell me how great the USA was, wiped his hands on the sandwich and drank the disinfectant. I didnt think anything of it at the time because I thought he was just another paranoid Yank! But now that you mention it, it does seem like there could be some kind of a connection.  :o

To all the humble Yanks out there bighting their lips, please dont take anything personally. Your country needs more good ambassadours like you. Thailand is a great leveler after a while.

Worse, perhaps surprisingly to some -- and especially to those innocent Americans who project their own essential Goodness and Kindness on to all Men -- the America haters ranks include the majority of the universally-ingrate populations of the EURO-peon's Brussels-based Neo-Soviet's squalid little fascisocialist satellite states -- including the one with which we share our language.
Strange fellow you are. Apart from the fact the question as to who is sharing whose language with whom - you actually contradict yourself with
the world is either with US -- or it is with and of our enemy.
As I do believe a certain 'language sharing' European country both stood shoulder-2-shoulder with the USA in the aftermouth, Afganistan and Iraq! Also the 'fact' that the USA hardly came runnuing to our crys of help during the two world wars you are hinting at; I do believe Pearl Harbour and the Lucitania had something to do with that. America DID make the difference and the Allies are eternally greatful, but it needed the kick in the first place. America has enermies - some as stated because of pure jelousy, most because of the 'friend of my enermy is my enermy' (to miss quote Sun Tsu) ethos. Perhaps there is little one can do to overcome these. However, Bush has insulted, isolated and basically pissed of, not only these enermies, but most of the so called friendly nations too. This causes negative press and people beleive what they read - it is this that people have been stating here, not necessarily there own feelings.

I come from that 'language sharing Neo-Soviet's squalid little fascisocialist satellite state'; I am proud to say I hate nobody (ex-wife maybe - different story); I was proud with my country's reaction to 9/11 - we truly did feel the pain - the shock was evident everywhere; I was proud that my country stood alongside the US in the aftermouth and Iraq - putting morality first (I thought the timing was wrong though - Gaza strip surely had a higher priority, but that's another thread on a different Web Site).

I am severly biting my tongue here, its hard to resist when faced with a torraid of mad rantings. However, this is not a debate on the rights and wrongs of anti-American feeling, merely as to why this feeling exists, surely.

Serge, it is sad that you accept stereotyping as being ok. Let me suggest, that to catagorize or stereotype is not only illogical, but rather ignorant at best.

Would it be fair, if I said that Germans are no good, because of what Hitler did in World War two?? The answer to this is no. Now, tell me the logic in stereotyping people. Actually, tell me how intelligent it is, to say such rash comments as Brian stated. It is your choice to agree with ignorance.

I have only heard about the bad side of America from you bashers. Can any of you America bashers say anything good about America?? I guess not, since you can not look at your own country or yourself and see any negative. Try it sometime!!! There is good and bad in all of us.

Serge, I am a middle aged man and I have been around the world a few times too. I have heard very, very few Americans ask, "why does the world hate Americans?" What I hear a lot of Americans say is, that there is always a few Americans who make us look bad, either by their behavior or speaking in ill will of other nations or people.

I feel that a good amount of Americans, could care less, whether or not others are in love with America. Are you loved by all?? Is any person or country loved by all??

Have a nice day!!

rash comments as Brian stated

Rash: thoughtless and impetuous: acting with, resulting from, or typical of thoughtless impetuous behavior.

My comments were neither thoughtless nor impetuous.

Again, you launch a personal attack on me because I disagree with your opinions... You treat me as though I don't know shit. Regardless of the facts presented.

Of course there are some good things about the U.S and equally there are some negatives of other countries. But thats not what this post is about. It was started by someone commenting about some negatives stated in some asian press. When rational explanations are given all the one-eyed stars and stripes wavers come out of the wood work to deny that there is any reason behind ANY of this negative press.

It is exactly this head in the sand attitude that will only exacerbate the problem.

Much truth is said in jest.

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days.

Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a deep sigh of

satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look

Michael, look what I've made." Archangel Michael looked puzzled

and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put LIFE on it. I'm going to call

it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance." "Balance?"

inquired Michael, still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example,

Northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while Southern Europe is going to be poor;the Middle East over there will be a hot spot. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people."

God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be

extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice." The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a large landmass in the top corner and asked, "What's that one?" "Ah," said God. "That's Canada, the most glorious place on Earth. There are beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, streams and an exquisite coastline.

The people from Canada are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found traveling the world. They'll be extremely sociable, hardworking and high achieving and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace. I'm also going to give them super-human, undefeatable ice hockey players who will be admired and feared by all who come across them."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed; "What about

balance, God? You said there would be BALANCE!" God replied wisely.

"Wait until you see the loud-mouth egotists I'm putting next to them.

Hey Brian, I really do not like quoting people, but I feel it sums up, what I am trying to express to you. Here goes:

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

Think about it.........

Lastly, I send my love and best wishes to all people, of all the nations of the world.

I REST MY CASE.

At least that sounds like an intelligent quote? I think.

On a lighter note, take a look at this US site.

It proves that not all Yanks are blindly patriotic to the point of paranoia.

On the other hand, I do like quoting people.

aka Mr Powerful Opinion
Sticks and stones.... blah blah blah.

Well, I at least agree with this from the article:

They are, of course, correct that in some cases the global pushback against U.S. initiatives may help inhibit the unilateral excesses, mistakes, and double standards of a superpower often driven by narrow calculations rooted in domestic politics. It is thus simplistically wrong to equate the worldwide protests against U.S. policy toward Iraq with anti-Americanism. Indeed, accusing critics of President George W. Bush’s policies of being anti-Americans—lite or otherwise—is as mistaken as branding critics of Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s policies anti-Semites. Both accusations often simply aim to stifle what is a desirable debate in any democracy.

For every 10 or so left-wing rants you get one letter from an American, usually a war vet, to put things back in ''perspective''.

Sorry, this one slipped by me....

Of course I always go to a war vet to have things put into "perspective".  After all, it's their job to believe everything that their govt tells them, for you and Frank (and anybody else that I forgot to mention) its just amateur status.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind placing a bet that at least one of you is a war vet..

OK. I've thought about it. The exact same argument can be used to describe your own ignorance.

No matter what facts are placed in front of you. You cannot see that there may be a rational reason behind some anti U.S sentiment..

Think about that.........

In fact this is the exact reason why there are still so many good muslims around the world that still cannot believe that some of their "brothers" could be responsible for 9/11.

You might have quoted the next paragraph, Brian:

But lite anti-Americans are equally wrong when they assume there is no cost to their broad denunciations, especially when strident attacks against U.S. policy help stoke far deeper and more pervasive animosities and suspicions against the United States, its government, and its people. Unfortunately, it has become all too easy for those who disagree with specific U.S. policies to believe and disseminate the worst possible assumptions about the malicious nature, dark motivations, and hidden agendas of the United States—including horrible falsehoods.
Or even this:
Those who partake and spread lite anti-Americanism, even while sharing the principles and values the United States stands for, undermine the country’s ability to defend such principles abroad.

From the next paragraph...

Unfortunately, it has become all too easy for those who disagree with specific U.S. policies to believe and disseminate the worst possible assumptions about the malicious nature, dark motivations, and hidden agendas of the United States—including horrible falsehoods.

Nothing I have said is a falsehood. It is all facts.

It is is up to th U.S govt to show that there are no hidden agendas or dark motivations by its own actions, not by having me silenced...

Those who partake and spread lite anti-Americanism, even while sharing the principles and values the United States stands for, undermine the country’s ability to defend such principles abroad.

So what should we do when we disagree with a certain policy or action of the U.S govt... Should we be forced to keep silent? Surely that goes against ALL  the principles and values the United States stands...

You want your cake and eat it too..

Anyway, I'm sick of this topic now. My last post..

It is obvious that many of you would never conceed that your govt might do anything that the press could possibly have a legitamate complaint about.

I can not show you anything if your eyes are closed.

It proves that not all Yanks are blindly patriotic to the point of paranoia.
But is seems that those here are.

I'm off for a beer... Cheers.

Ando, in this posting here of mine, I misspelled your name. Sorry about that.

I also felt that as an American and because of my misspelling of your name, Brain would dig into his bag of quotes (please note not his own work) and attempt to discredit me.

It is funny, that just by Haha starting this topic, it gave Brian enough of rope to hang himself. Brian did hang himself, with his first posting on this thread and/or topic.

Yes, I did say I rested my case. So, I will rest my case once and for all.

Ok, facts are facts indeed. To quote Weaver: ""Why is it that mankind lived in famine, misery, and squalor for thousands of years, but suddenly, in America, a tide of innovation and productivity was unleashed that elevated even the poor to a living standard higher than what kings enjoyed just a few hundred years ago?""

Hmmmm ya think all that wealth and civilization was stolen from the Indians? Most of you would still sell your children to get them a green card. So what doesn that speak of what you've created? Despite all the negatives that have been created in America, we have to build walls to keep people OUT, or there would be no people in places like Asia and America would become the most densely populated real estate on the planet.

I think the facts speak for themselves. The brilliance of the people who founded America knew that it was "Freedom" which would propell humankind to heights unimagined before and set out with a plan to create that Free society. First time in 6,000 years of world civilization in fact was this near enough Libertarian society and it did in fact work. For at least the first 100 years, almost every shackle of the old world was thrown off and the country prospered like no other while also creating a beacon of hope for the rest of the world at large. Facts are facts.

And perhaps it was doomed to failure eventually as small minds who have big ideas to create their own power over others especially in the rest of the world actually started to find it's way into the American psyche and soon this place started to adopt more and more of the rest of the worlds shallowness with regards to the question of Freedom to where it ( America) has indeed become just another rung on the ladder of the rest of the socialist world. And that is a tragedy.

And rather than learn from the positives of the founding of this great place, many people ( here and there) focus on how to tear it down and that is indeed happening. Another tragedy and also a reflection of those same small minds that have governed mankind since the beginning.

Alas, we have become just a reflection of the rest of y'all, ( although in your defence, some of you have in fact taken on a "few" of the ideas that we presented to the world and as a result, became more free than you ever were before) who have never found the space in time of the freedom that was created in America and the people here have adopted much of your feeble attempts at controling each and everything that people do. In short, America is in fact being reduced to a similar craphole of talking the talk like y'all, rather than walking the walk as we used to do.

Further, as economic FACT will show, when America sneezes, the world gets sick, there's a lot more to come in an ideological force that is truly worrisome to any lover of freedom. These however in fact are YOUR ideas that this place has adopted, not our creations.

So, if the facts are the facts, there should in fact be a worldwide SADNESS over the fact that "we the people" have lost in this struggle for Freedom, and once we go, you all have no shot at it whatsoever. You certainly didn't for 6,000 years and I seriously doubt you could even articulate what to do now.

Rally and speak out in support of freedom. Rally and speak out for the Libertarians of the world, especially the ones in America and maybe, just maybe this struggle for freedom can be won again. But my natural positive thinking leads me in a different direction and that is to simply wish you luck and I'll go back to beiing the "invisible" American.
