Thais don't need to pay to enter Cambodia. They don't even need a stamp on the Cambodian side, just the Thai side (strangley enough).

You should pay $20 for the visa, or 1,000 baht. You don't need to pay anything more. They're real a**holes at that border.

The attitude in PoiPet has been frequently discussed. and is no surprise.

The reason that Thais are not getting the entry stamp of Cambodia is a kind of novum as Thais officially require a Visa to enter Cambodia, same as Farangs , but in order not to stop the lucrative gambling business Thais are allowed to gamble in No Man Land without any Visa while we Farangs get the Visa .

Not quite so. I went to poipet a few years ago to spend a day at the casinos, and all up it cost me 200B, with a stipulation that I had to be back over the border by midnight. (I was with a sizeable party of thai's doing the same thing)

I am absolutley sure this was not legal, but I gave it a shot, & had no probs at all.

These good old times are surely over , years ago the Thais were allowed to walk across the border with their ID card only.

Nowadays they need PP to cross , may be a able to get a borderpass.

Let's be honest , PoiPet is not the nicest place on earth , for first timers a culture shock.
