Anyone got a non B Thai visa from Bali?

Featured Replies

I'm in Bali at the moment and looking to apply for a non B visa from the Bali Thai consulate.

Anyone done it before?  I have all the documents from a school which will obtain a work permit later.

The one concern I have is that there seems to be confusion about what they will do for an Indonesian

national and what they will do for citizens of other countries.  I'm from the UK and not eligible to

apply for Indonesian residency.

On the Jakarta consulate website they list an Indonesian police check as a required document but

I have a Thai police check document instead.  I can't get an Indonesian one because you have to be

a Thai national.

I've read conflicting reports about what can and can't be done at the Bali consulate.  Anyone had

experience of the police check requirement for a non B visa or Ed visa?

I appreciate any advice anyone can give.  My plan B is to get a 3 month tourist visa if they say no to the

non B but there's always a danger they will say no to that as I've had a few of those already [last year]

and they are starting to hassle me when I go to Thailand these days.

I went to the Bali consulate and applied with the Thai police check and was given the non b visa after a 3 day wait.  Very nice consulate, no queues at all.
