Work Permit or Krusapa (Teaching Iicense), which should comes first?

Featured Replies

Good day.

I am based here in Chiang Mai.

i’m really confused right now. I just got my Non-B visa from Laos last week and now I just came back but I don’t really understand the Thai teacher who process my Work permit and visa. If my memory serves me right, my former school do like these:

Non-B, krusapa, Work Permit, visa extension.

Earlier Today, she told me “Work Permit should be the next step after Non-B visa. Then after the Work permit Blue book, that’s the time we can process your Teaching License from krusapa BKK.”

my question is, what would be the right order? Is this the right sequence?

1. Non-B visa

2. Work Permit

3. Teaching License from krusapa

4. Visa extension

Thank you very much..

I think you are correct and on your list 2 and 3 are reversed.

The teachers license is needed to apply for the work permit.

That's what I'm trying to explain to the Thai teacher earlier but she was stressing her point with a high tone of voice saying "BELIEVE ME!"

This concerns me more cause I needed to secure a medical certificate for Work Permit and it will only be valid within 30 days. I don't wanna waste my money just to secure another one due to a mistake of this sequence.

But I highly appreciate your feedback Ubonjoe. More power!

Unless a teacher in home country you won't be applying for a license but a waiver. This will precede work permit. Absolutely.

Medical is only 200b don't sweat it lol

Mine was 80 baht.

Congratulations. I'm certain it was a quality work up.

The first you need is the teacher license (5 years) or the weaver letter (2 years).

then the other things might change up to your immigration. For example visa comes first before WP in some places, but in some other WP comes before visa. Both happened to 2 of my friends.

But the first thing they asked was the KRUSAPA. As Ubon said, get your visa and then KRUSAPA

FYI: school should do all that paper work for your, dont let them make it yourself. If you start like that.. it will go like that! Tell them to do, its really their duty. They must prepare all the paper work for KRUSAPA, WP and visa. They can send all paper work to KRUSAPA via mail... it will take 3-4 weeks for you to get it.
