ED Visa in Vientiane for studying Thai

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have never asked for an ED visa before, but am reading about lots of rejections lately.

What are my chances of getting one?

Been living in Thailand for 13 months on one METV and one SETV, plus a visa exempt entry. All I got on my passport is those 2 visas (and 1 exempt entry).

What is the website for registration in Vientiane (sorry if asked before)?

Thanks in advance

It seems for what I read that first application is not a problem and that they give out one ED visa per year (others maybe can confirm).

Considering your passport is almost empty (just 2 visa stickers and one exempt entry) you most likely should have no problems, though you spent more than a year continuously on tourist visa.

You should not a problem getting it since it is your first one.

This from the website of a company that does visa runs to there.

"Non ED (most first timers have no problem, only one application from Language Schools in one full year , cover letter must only indicate your specific level & show bank balance THB 20,000.- & Rental Contract. As of now we can not confirm on how to do with second year applicants)."
