I'm helping out a fellow Canadian with his retirement extension at Jomtien. This year he will be short of the required 65k/mth. He can get an income letter from the embassy for just over 600,000baht for the year. I will lend him 200,000baht to put in his bank account (seeded 2 or 3 months???) Will this be accepted?
Also  if this is possible, how long does the 200,000 have to stay in his account after obtaining the extension.

Thanks in advance.

Three months after. Then maybe 100k baht until the account is topped up for next extension.

Hi UbonJoe....just read this on the PCEC site....do you think the 400k will apply to my scenario? Thanks.

"W e have seen mixed reports on Thaivisa.com regarding allowance of the combination method. Although we have seen third hand reports that Chonburi (Pattaya) Immigration Office is one of the Offices refusing to allow this method, we have not received any first hand report of someone making an application for extension at Pattaya Immigration. The new rules appear to require a minimum of 400,000 baht on deposit plus monthly transfer in baht of enough so that the amount on deposit plus monthly transfer multiplied by 12 will equal 800,000 baht.Note: This appears to mean that the calculation must be made for each month"

Not sure what Jomtien really wants. I was writing based upon what the police order states.

I have a friend from Germany. He's using the combination method at Jomtien Immigration. With an income letter from his embassy/consulate together with 400k in the bank, he's got no problem what so ever. He's been doing it for years. I don't really know if the 400k is an official requirement. My advise is to ask at desk 8 at Jomtien Immigration.
