possible there is a legal food chemical that makes you feel full / bloated ?

Went to S.....r restaurant with my child.

We had (famous for) unlimited salad bar + a main dish.

Is it possible there is a legal food chemical that makes you feel full / bloated so you don't eat too much ?

We went to eat all you can eat bbq meat before elsewhere and we ate really a lot and did not get this instand bloated feeling,

but in S.....r, we did not eat that much and both of us felt full so quickly.

Is it the salad that is full of preservative so the salad don't spoil that can cause this ?
