ricklev
I went to Bangkok Bank today to open a new fixed account and they decided they couldn't do it without a tax ID number. New banking regulation, she said. Luckily I had a picture on my phone of the card which I got about 15 years ago. However the computer wouldn't accept it because it only had 9 digits. I guess I have to go somewhere to get a new one. I remember I first got this one at an office on Radjamnoern Road in Bangkok. I don't think it is there anymore. Where do I need to go now? Curious, anyone else have this problem? Thanks.
asiaexpat
Revenue office can issue a 13 digit Tax ID number. Offices can be found here www.rd.go.th/publish/38258.0.htm. Bring passport and tell them you need the ID for banking.
