After some poor experiences with Google maps,

Can anyone recommend something better? 

Not only for driving,  also for public transport.

And also showing stuff that is interesting.

I just checked my neighborhood, error rate is about 50% (eg they give you 2 restaurants and a shoe shop that don't exist), more if you count slightly incorrect things like buildings or bridges moved several meters. 

The Waze app is very good for driving. Search for Waze in the app store.

 

Google has problems with companies and locations. Especially if they quit and the listing stays. This is not only in Thailand.

 

If big objects moved in Google maps there is probably a problem with your GPS.

 

 

 

 

'Here' or 'Here we go' is a good app with off line download functions. Google suffers from Amercentralism and is unusable in Pattaya.  Local knowledge is always better.
