BANGKOK (NNT) - The young informant who informed authorities about the whereabouts of Thailand’s "Jack the Ripper" has been recognized for his bravery. The information led to an arrest.

Kasidet “Ray” Lert-udom-tham attended his recognition ceremony at the Royal Thai Army General Headquarters in the capital’s Phra Nakhon District, with the Permanent Secretary for Defense, the commanders of the Royal Thai Army, Navy, Airforce and the Chief of Defence Forces accompanying the brave young man.

Kasidet received a plaque of honor for providing information which led to the apprehension of Somkid Poompuang, a serial killer who murdered 6 people.

Kasidet expressed his gratitude to the army for holding the event, while saying that he wants to serve but has not made up his mind which branch of the military to join.

Ah, he have the privilege to chose? Son, you'll  have to fork up some serious dough if you want to join the army, unless you've got connections.

Bravery? What a strong word for tipping off the police via a simple phone call.

If anything, it was civil courage.

No, you are wrong. It was indeed "bravery".

Is this something any Thai would do? No! They would worry about ramifications if this guy ever got out again or had friends that would be looking for vengeance.

He was indeed brave.

Am I not remembering correctly that this 'hero' and his girlfriend were on the same train with the culprit killer and that the 'girlfriend' had to 'push' this 'Brave guy' to make the call to police and he reluctantly made the call.......... NOW HE IS THE HERO......... ??????  (WHAT ABOUT HER??????)             Go back and read the first story again...............
