Still bemuse me that a ticket clearly marked as 80 baht is sold for 100...

A single lottery ticket still is 80 baht out here in Khampaeng Phet province.

However if you want more tickets with the same number they are 100 baht each.

A single ticket will get you 6,000,000 baht and for every ticket you hold is another 6,000,000. Therefore 5 tickets with the same winning number will payout 30,000,000 baht less taxes.

  • "The PM also visited the exhibition and participated in an alcohol test, scoring, of course, a perfect zero."   Well, apparently, the device measures brain activity, & not alcohol.

  • Such as the yawning gap between the have's and the have not's!

I was told that its 80 baht.

But the registered sellers offload to the person who walks around puts 12 baht on.

Then the person who has the board puts 8 baht on.

Becomes 100 baht...

and just to make sure let's raise the price of 0% alcohol beer. Logic no?

The other option is to travel around to find another seller who has the same numbers that you want. It is expensive in time and travel with no guarantee that you will find the numbers that you want.

wow he has got a talent he knows how to beg, when everything else fales

Well this afternoon they had thinned out a bit worn out i must think from over work Meanwhile The drivers were going past that checkpoint No helmets speeding 4 on a bike and nobody was pulled up  So I ask again why are these checkpoints in place

Ok my question again what is the purpose of those tents with all those coppers siting inside doing nothing? Is it supposed to act as a deterant for drivers not to break the road rules Is that what there purpose is?

I'm sure that people will not feel the need to drink so much to escape the disaster of Prayut's incompetence once he's gone.

the big question IS WHEN WILL HE BE GONE???

I guess the elite class can have their chauffeurs drive them when they're sloshed. Of course they're special cars would never be stopped at checkpoints anyway.  <shrug>

My favorite scheme this year are the mock cutout of "Patrol Cars" "parked" on the side of the road in order to scare the average motorist into slowing down.
However, in my entire time in Thailand, well over a decade, I've never seen a "Patrol Car" do anything but escort VIPs.
My guess is that a "Patrol Car" with lights-a-flashing doesn't even cause the average Thai motorist pulse or blood pressure to increase let along become concerned.  Cops on the side of the road in tents
Ho-hum.

Oh there are much more appropriate names for you than Ching Jai!

Too many teenager drivers and many of them underage, I saw a boy to drive his friend yesterday. Crazy.

My neighborhood in the Northern suburbs of Bangkok allows children as young as 12-14 to ride their motorbikes, with 2-3 friends hanging on in the back, no helmets, shorts and t-shirts and flip flops only.  ESPECIALLY during holiday periods.  I've seen several accidents with kids, they take awful risks and don't care about traffic rules....and rarely police around ever.

Not funny. That was an expensive laptop on which I spewed my morning coffee.

On a separate note, instead of vowing, begging, instructing, ordering etc., why can't you - the most powerful man in the world - just get your bumbling brown gits to do their jobs and enforce the law, without fear or favour, if that isn't asking for too much?

Like talking to a brick wall to ask Thais not to drink and drive and kill themselves in droves over the New Year period; well in fact any period during the year.

Even with enforcement they will never change the cultural attitude of Thais on the roads.

It's past the point of no return, the statistics speak for themselves!

Actions speak louder than words, no action ever taken.

Try making the speed limit 80km over the holidays with 0 tolerance.

Introduce heavy fines, put the BIB on the roads, put random breath stops all over the country, anywhere anytime.

Then you might see some difference .

Hmmm, guess that request didn't go too well !

But one thing for sure, we'll hear it again next year (if he's still around).
