Prime Minister, Prayut Chan-o-cha added his voice to calls for people never to drink and drive during an activity held today (December 26) at Mo Chit Bus Terminal in Bangkok.

“I want to change my name to Ching Jai [Faithful] because my heart [Jai] is devoted to helping the country to develop further,” he said.

“During these auspicious moments of the New Year, I want everyone to be careful on the road to reduce accidents and deaths. There are many differences in our society, but don’t see everything as difficult and have mercy on others since (sometimes) laws cannot not solve everything.”

He said that there are 3 pillars for happiness, calling them the 3Ls; Love yourself, Love family, and Love others. “When an accident occurs all three of these are broken, so stay sober and keep your speed down to less than 80-kilometres per hour.

“The government hopes to see 0 per cent accident even though that probably isn’t possible. My family is getting bigger every day with police and people. Therefore, I want people to be safe during the festival,” he said.

The PM also visited the exhibition and participated in an alcohol test, scoring, of course, a perfect zero.

'begs' - not 'orders'? Wow, his medication must be really powerful.

I'm sure that people will not feel the need to drink so much to escape the disaster of Prayut's incompetence once he's gone.

'...helping the country to...' Aw gee I wish he wouldn't say things like...probably means more problems for expats and westerners in general, Ha!

If he is devoted to his country then a good start is to recite the full woavel

The 3rd pillar is in a holding pattern while the first two are still being worked on!

Big hint Mr. PM.  You have one of the largest police forces in the world per capita.  Why not get them doing their jobs properly.  Why not enforce laws so that we dont have to take knee jerk and silly actions at isolated times of the year.  You could get them to enforce road laws all year around.  Then when it comes to new year people may actually follow the law for fear of being fined or having their licence permanently removed.  I know it sounds crazy but it works elsewhere.  Give it a go!

Yep, which also sums up exactly what he has achieved for the better here for the last 5 years.
