Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit

Future Forward Party (FWP) leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit lauded his supporters for fighting for democracy while wishing Thais a happy New Year.

In his Facebook post on Saturday (December 28), he said his party had begun 2019 with hope and faced challenges in its first election, and ended the year as a witness of people’s bravery against the government’s injustice.

“In this year, there were numerous stories to remember, several mistakes to learn from, many successes to be proud of, and abundant encouragements to thank for,” he said.

Thanathorn thanked people for every bottle of water his party members had received while running the party campaign, as well as those flowers, smiles, drawings, letters, presents, and internet comments they had gained during the year.

“We thank you and appreciate everything you gave us,” he said. “These things indicate that we did not struggle alone. There are many people who will fight and walk with us until we remove the tears of those who are suffering, and bring back democracy.”

Thanathorn wished everyone and their families a happy New Year and urged all to stay together. “I wish all of you safety in travelling back home and be encouraged there,” he said. “You have to be prepared, for yourself and your loved ones, to live [lives] as valuable and meaningful as possible in 2020.”

Not alone, but goodness knows the average Thai is scared to death of the Army and their corporate puppet masters.  They will not relinquish control easily.  Freedom will not come easily to the Thai people.

True. If in doubt, remember that in Thailand, decibels are second in importance only to self-interest. The law of the jungle applies.

This guy is a bit like Boris, too lazy to use a comb.

Many of us really want to see this man and his party succeed. Is there any other way forward for this nation?

Great success to Thanathorn. Good riddens to Prayuth. One represents nobility and promise for the common Thai. The other represents backward movement and the crony spirit and protection of the elite and those in power.

I wish him, Anakot Mai and those who support what the party stands for all the best for the next year. Many clouds have gathered but I believe only people like them can 'return happiness to the people'.

It's not me who needs to go to specsavers. Don't you tell me that guy uses a comb, if he does, it

does not make any difference. ????

Go get "em" son you may need to get the conscript army to point their guns at the badge laden instead of civilians though ????

We shall see.

he may laud supporters in the street but if the excrement hits the fan and the guns on both sides come out, he'll be so far from the 'street' he might as well be in Dubai with the other chuckle head..

I read it this morning on the BKK Post.

Maybe the brave chicken fighters that like to gang up and attack foreigners can stand-up like real men to save Thailand and bring about much needed change. No? I didn't think so... If it's not a fair fight for them (10 or more against 1) they will cry...

31.2% of respondents supported Thanathorn, saying they want a new generation to lead the nation.

PM Prayut Chan-o-cha was well behind in the survey with support from 23.7%

11.9% for Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan of the Pheu Thai Party.
