BANGKOK (NNT) - Many people have left Mor Chit 2 bus terminal for the provinces during the New Year season. The Transport Co. has provided more bus services to leave no passengers stranded.

Mor Chit 2 bus terminal is hectic with people leaving for the provinces for the New Year, causing traffic congestion in the neighborhood. The Transport Co. has increased the number of bus services from 5,419 trips to about 8,219 trips, to accommodate 165,802 passengers daily between December 26 and December 28.

At Hua Lampong railway station, crowds of people are taking trains to the provinces during the New Year season. Many carry bags of belongings and goods.

The State Railway of Thailand has provided northern and northeastern trains with additional second-class and third-class air-conditioned carriages for some 8,000 New Year travelers daily. Sightseeing train trips have been canceled from December 28, 2019 to January 1, 2020.

Meanwhile, Suvarnabhumi international airport’s departure hall is decorated with Christmas trees and lights to greet airline passengers leaving for home or going on tour for the long holiday. Some have left on a tour to Nepal during the New Year season.

Suvarnabhumi international airport has been prepared to accommodate as many as 2.2 million airline passengers during the New Year season or about 190,000 passengers daily. The service center is open around the clock with stepped-up security, CCTV cameras and more luggage carts from today until January 5. More interpreters are available to assist travelers around the clock at the airport.
